Pakistani Firms To Partake At ATF 2013 In South Africa

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) would be sending about nine companies to participate in the 15th International Apparel, Textile and Footwear Trade Exhibition of South Africa (ATF) 2013, scheduled to be held from November 20-22, 2013 in Cape Town, APP reported.
ATF is South Africa’s only import sourcing show for the clothing, textile, footwear and leather industries. The main objective of the event is to offer foreign manufacturers and suppliers as well as local importers in these industries a truly effective opportunity to make contact with Southern African buyers from the large chain stores, independent retailers, mini chains, boutiques, specialized stores as well as other important industry decision makers.
The event would also provide local importers an opportunity to reinforce business with existing customers, explore trade opportunities with other African countries and discuss potential agency agreements with international manufacturers.
This year, the show has introduced a special ‘Buyer Focus’ campaign to attract quality participants, buyers and trade professionals.
ATF attracts over 2,300 trade professionals each year and more than 130 companies are
represented at this highly focused event.
Concurrently along with the ATF, the High Commission of Pakistan would be organizing a seminar on doing business with Pakistan, which is likely to be attended by representatives of leading chain stores, businessmen and importers, according to a statement.
In financial year 2012-13 that ended on June 30, the value of Pakistan’s exports to South Africa have risen to US$ 280 million from pervious year’s US$ 268 million.
At present, Pakistan’s share is negligible in overall South African imports of US$ 103 billion per annum, and hence TDAP is making effort to gain a greater share.
